  • Do you accept vision or medical insurance?

    U & EYE is a private-pay practice and does not accept in-network insurance. However, we provide everything you need to help secure out-of-network reimbursement from your vision or medical insurance provider. Most patients are reimbursed directly by their insurance carrier. We’ll guide you through the paperwork.

  • Can I use an HSA or FSA to pay?

    Yes! We accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for all services, including exams, lenses, and frames. Just bring your HSA/FSA card at checkout. Many patients use these accounts to cover services not typically reimbursed by standard vision plans.

  • What if I need an insurance-covered option?

    If you prefer in-network care, we’re happy to refer you to our sister practice: Eyes on You Optometry in San Francisco. They accept many major insurance plans and maintain the same high-quality service you expect from U & EYE—just with insurance billing available.

  • Will someone help me with reimbursement forms?

    Absolutely. We’ll gladly provide all the itemized receipts and documentation you need to submit a claim. If you’re unsure what to submit, we’ll walk you through the process step by step. Our goal is to make private-pay care as seamless and stress-free as possible.

  • Do you offer flexible appointments or delivery?

    Yes! We offer what we call “Out-of-Our-Way” services—special accommodations like after-hours appointments or delivery of glasses and contacts. These are arranged on a case-by-case basis, so call to ask what’s possible for your situation.
